Frank Runyeon (born August 23, 1953, Cleveland, Ohio, USA) is an American actor who is best known for his role as Steve Andropoulos on the CBS television series As the World Turns from 1980 to 1987, in which he co-starred with Meg Ryan. During the last several years, he has also established himself as an internationally renowned translator and performer of one-man dramas based on the Bible. In the years after his departure from CBS, Runyeon played Michael Donnelly on NBC’s serial series Santa Barbara, which ran from 1988 until 199In 1992, he made his television debut as Simon Romero on the ABC soap General Hospital, and in 1994, he made his television debut as Ed McClain on the ABC drama Another World. In addition, he has appeared as a guest star on a number of prime-time television programmes, including LA Law, Falcon Crest, and Melrose Place, among others. Sudden Death, a feature film in which he played Detective Marty Lowery, was his first cinematic role. In the early 1990s, Runyeon took a break from the entertainment industry to attend seminary. His undergraduate studies were completed at Fuller Seminary and Yale Divinity School before getting his Masters degree with honours from General Theological Seminary in New York in 199He is a 1975 graduate of Princeton University. The following six readings from the New Testament have been reworked and performed as one-man performances by him since then: Fear: The Gospel of Mark, Signs: The Gospel of John, Sermon on the Mount, Luke: Stories on the Road, THE LETTER OF JAMES, and the farce THE 312 STORIES OF CHRISTMAS are among the titles in the program’s schedule. Over the course of the last two decades, he has played in over 2,000 churches of different faiths in 47 states. Runyeon is also a regular speaker on the subject of the media. Throughout the country, his amusing address “Hollywood versus Faith: The Struggle to Live Faithfully in the Media Age” has been well-received in schools and churches of many denominations. He urges his audience to take pleasure in what is excellent in the media while not placing too much faith in the realm of show business. In 2000, he was a featured lecturer on the topic of mass media at the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
