There was much talk and fuss over Cara Delevingne breaking royal protocol last month at Princess Eugenie's wedding to Jack Brooksbank. The supermodel-turned-actress chose a perfectly tailored Emporio Armani complete with cummerbund, tails, stilettos and top hat to the ceremony at St. Georges Chapel, instead of a dress and fascinator like her big sisters Chloe Delevingne, Poppy Delevingne and the rest of the female guests in attendance.

Delevigne revealed that she did have some apprehension about her choice and wanted to make sure it was okay with the royal bride. They've been friends since childhood, so she asked the princess before the big day. "I texted her... and she was like, ‘Of course, I expected nothing else from you!'" she told Grazia.
While Megan, Duchess of Sussex Megan didn’t wear pants to Princess Eugenie’s wedding she’s also been fond of breaking royal protocol by eschewing dresses in favor of trousers.

She has worn pants for several royal engagements, ushering in a more modern era for the British royal family, although we doubt Queen Elizabeth will follow suit.

Princess Eugenie’s wedding also have some rule-breaking moments. Since the royal is on Instagram, she was able to share her engagement photos on the popular social media platform, as opposed to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex whose photos were shared from the official royal family account. Princess Eugenie’s wedding also extended beyond one day, with the newly weds also having a party the following day.
Also, since Princess Eugenie is further down the line for the throne her wedding was not a bank day like Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding.
